We are looking to recruit Bank Cooks to become part of our team of valued bank staff.
You should be qualified to City & Guilds 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 in food preparation or have equivalent experience and also hold a current intermediate food hygiene qualification and have allergen awareness knowledge .
Experience of NHS Catering would be an advantage although not essential.
You should be enthusiastic, friendly and be flexible to help cover additional shifts, when required, to support service delivery within our Catering Department on an as and when basis.
The Catering Department have a variety of shift patterns over a 7-day period between the hours of 06.00-20.00. Shift patterns can be between 0600-1400, 08.00-1600 or 12.00-20.00.
Previous experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
You must have excellent customer skills, work well as a part of a team and have a flexible and adaptable approach to duties.
Main duties include preparation and cooking of hot & cold foods for patients, staff, visitors, functions and on-site nursery. You must also follow hygiene practices within the kitchen to include temperature controls of all products, cleaning and other general duties.

• All posts are subject to NHS pre-employment checks including occupational health clearance and DBS (where appropriate).
• All pay progression is conditional upon a positive outcome at annual appraisal.
• All successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay. You will be required to sign a DBS payment form which will be issued to you as part of your recruitment process.
• All new employees will be required to attend the Trust induction programme and complete appropriate mandatory training requirements.
