We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable P.E. Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in Southampton. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in sports and fitness who enjoys working with young people and is looking to make a positive impact in schools. As a P.E. Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising P.E. classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage class behaviour, and motivate students to participate actively in physical activities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting, perfect for those considering a future in teaching, coaching, or youth work. Key Responsibilities Deliver pre-set P.E. lessons across a range of sports and fitness activities. Supervise and engage students to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Encourage student participation and teamwork, promoting health and well-being. Manage classroom and sports hall behaviour effectively, following the school's policies. Support the school's ethos and work collaboratively with teaching staff and other cover supervisors. About You Passionate about physical education, sports, and student development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage groups of young people. Experience working with secondary school-aged students in an educational, coaching, or youth work setting. Flexible, adaptable, and proactive, with a positive attitude towards challenges. A relevant degree or background in sports science, physical education, coaching, or teaching assistance is preferred but not essential.
