Hello there. We’re Zopa. We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. As the Product Director for our mobile app, you will be at the forefront of our mobile product strategy and execution. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation and ensure our mobile app delivers exceptional value to our users. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing the development process, and ensuring that our mobile products align with the company’s overall business objectives.
Our app is already making waves with a rating on the App Store and on Google Play. Currently, it serves as a robust servicing app, but we’re on a mission to transform it into an all-in-one finance solution. With the launch of our Current Account product on the horizon, we’re expecting a surge in user engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set the strategic direction for the mobile app product in collaboration with the Chief Customer and Chief Technology Officer – starting from Zopa’s overall purpose and business objectives.
2. Translate the strategy into well-defined products, services and capabilities within the App roadmap.
3. Energise the app team to deliver the roadmap, managing relationships and interdependencies across the business and externally.
4. Set a high bar for App product design – ensuring that the end result for the user is engaging and intuitive.
5. Work closely with Engineering leadership to ensure that the app platform is robust and that change is delivered in a well-managed way.
6. Use data and MI to monitor and improve App experience and performance over time.
7. Manage risks and controls associated with the App in a responsible manner.
8. Build an App team capable of delivering on the ambition for the product.
9. Contribute to the wider product community at Zopa.
About You:
1. Proven track record of leading an App product at scale in an ‘app first’ business.
2. Depth of App experience – an ‘App native’ product manager.
3. Strong strategic thinking – evidence of setting strategic direction and delivering on it.
4. Excellent delivery capability – consistent ability to deliver on a challenging roadmap.
5. Product Mastery – deep knowledge of designing great App journeys and experiences.
6. Excellent communication skills: Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
7. Highly numerate and analytical – using data to understand behaviours and drive decision making.
