Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Team. This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction – a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers. Responsible for supporting SQS and MQS to deliver tasks, taking responsibility and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of responsibility. Ensure that BBV’s commercial position is protected using in depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes. Some responsibility for effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s) Demonstrates and maintains a good level of commercial and technical knowledge and works closely with the delivery team to develop techniques and solutions to meet business and customer needs. Experienced required BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent. Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB. Previous experience working in a civils/infrastructure project as a Quantity Surveyor.
