Description Information Officer - Ref: EE10324 Salary: G4 £25,183 - £27,269 pro-rata for hours worked Contract: 18.5 hours, temporary for up to 12 months Please note the library service operates on a Monday to Saturday basis; therefore, this position will include weekend working. This post is primarily based at Lichfield Street Hub (Central Library and Archives) but working at other locations may be required. The successful post holder will support the effective day-to-day operation delivery of a frontline service that engages with local communities and offers the highest possible standard of customer care and experience. You will actively promote a welcoming environment and be the first point of contact for all customers. As part of this role, you will assist in performance monitoring to improve quality and effectiveness of the service in line with key performance indicators and targets. As well as the ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, you will have proven excellent customer service, and experience of dealing with members of the public in a leisure or library/ culture industry. A flexible and proactive approach to work, both individually and as part of a team, are essential elements for this position. The Information Officer role would include: in person customer service the supporting of customers in the use of ICT applications the delivery of events and activities which promote the use of library stock and the benefits of reading answering enquiries and signposting to other services as part of the Walsall Connected network The proposed working pattern for this post will be: Tuesday, Wednesday and alternate Saturdays.
