Category Lead – Fleet
Location: Wiltshire
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 + Car/Car Allowance
Our client is a market-leading fleet management company. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Category Lead to join their team. The role will be responsible for commercials and contract management of the company's suppliers and garage vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, in line with current corporate strategy to provide for continual improvement in sourcing.
2. Analyze internal customer’s needs and investigate potential new suppliers.
3. Lead, support, and manage the RFP process to obtain the best possible terms with suppliers.
4. Serve as a liaison between suppliers and the legal department during contract negotiation.
5. Submit necessary paperwork to ensure completeness and compliance with company policy related to suppliers (Contract, Vendor Access Agreement, COI).
6. Play a key role in communicating change of suppliers and implementation of same with key operations personnel.
7. Analyze contracts, invoices, and documentation for compliance with existing agreements (KPIs, SLAs, price). Create detailed reports based on findings and follow up on resolutions.
8. Analyze and calculate current costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditures.
9. Monitor vendor performance and investigate vendor complaints to ensure a satisfactory resolution for all parties.
10. Ability to identify how suppliers affect the company across all business lines and how changes in the relationship may impact other areas of the business.
11. Support special projects or initiatives as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, and/or Finance preferred.
2. Clear understanding of contract terms and conditions.
3. CPSM certification preferred.
4. Prior demonstrated experience in roles that support the job description above are preferred.
5. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
6. Attention to detail, accuracy in addition to the ability to work effectively independently and as a team member.
7. Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
8. Desire to learn new skills/concepts.
