We are inviting applications to fill our (STR level) vacancies at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of GI Radiology.
You will be based at SJUH but work cross-site at Leeds General Infirmary. There are 2 posts commencing September 2025 and are 12 month fixed term contracts.
Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will be expected to provide a high-quality gastrointestinal radiology service, working closely with the consultant radiologists in this specialty. They will be required to develop a specialist interest in aspects of gastrointestinal radiology and participate in the Radiology HST teaching programme.
They will also participate in departmental clinical research and audit and assist in the training and supervision of junior medical staff (radiological and other clinicians). There will also be the option to develop US and CT non-vascular intervention techniques.
In addition, they will support the delivery of acute CT sessions as senior radiologists.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidates will be expected to provide a high-quality gastrointestinal radiology service, working closely with the consultant radiologists in this specialty. They will be required to develop a specialist interest in aspects of gastrointestinal radiology and participate in the Radiology HST teaching programme.
They will also participate in departmental clinical research and audit and assist in the training and supervision of junior medical staff (radiological and other clinicians). There will also be the option to develop US and CT non-vascular intervention techniques.
The timetable/job plan will be based on 33.65 hours, 8.4 clinical sessions per week. Sessions will be based between the sites of St James's University Hospital (SJUH) and Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). A further 4 hours/1 session per week is intended for private study, teaching preparation, audit, and research.
Additionally, an alternate week evening general acute CT list (5-9pm) will be incorporated into the fellowship timetable (2 hours plain time, 2 hours premium time = 2.35 hours per week total). There is no further on-call commitment. The total hourly commitment per week is therefore 40 hours.

Additional Requirements
* Extracurricular activities / achievements relevant to the specialty.
* Evidence of having undertaken research through publications and presentations ideally in the field of GI Radiology.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* FRCR (Parts 1 and 2) or equivalent evidence of radiology training with at least 4.5 years in a UK recognised Radiology Training Scheme.
* The candidate should have or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT in Clinical Radiology by the start of the post.
* MRCP, MRCS, or other postgraduate degree.
Clinical Experience and Career Progression
* At least 4.5 years experience in a recognised Radiology Training Scheme after full GMC registration or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GMC standards.

* Protect and promote the health of patients and of the public, treat patients as individuals and respect their dignity.

Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills
* Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at the intended start date.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date.
* Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs.
* All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written & spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients/colleagues demonstrated by one of the following:
* That applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English, or academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results showing a score of at least 7.5 in each domain (speaking, listening, reading, writing), with an overall score of at least 7.5, to be achieved in a single sitting and within 24 months of the time of application.
* If applicants believe they have adequate communication skills, but do not have evidence in one of the above forms, they must provide alternative supporting evidence of language skills.
* Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice).
