The NE region is offering an exciting opportunity for a band 5 manager to work in the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway Team for a fixed term of 12 months. The successful candidate will work in partnership with NHS trusts to deliver operational management of the Rebuilding Lives service. Responsibilities include developing partnership relationships with key stakeholders, joint reporting to commissioners, and ensuring proper governance of the work. The post-holder will also hold line management responsibility for probation colleagues within the partnership.
Overview of the Job
This management role within the National Probation Service (NPS) supports the Head of Operational Function to provide management and leadership within a Local Delivery Unit (LDU) or other operational unit.
Responsibilities, Activities & Duties
* Provide effective management and leadership to the team.
* Accountable for quality delivery of good practice and team performance improvement.
* Ensure cost-effective deployment of team resources.
* Ensure compliance with NPS contract requirements.
* Interpret and apply performance data to maximize LDU/team performance.
* Manage staff development and underperformance issues.
* Ensure appropriate risk management by offender managers.
* Contribute to public protection through multi-agency arrangements.
* Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Manage financial resources in line with HMPPS regulations.
* Facilitate effective communication with internal and external partners.
* Participate in corporate management as necessary.
* Undertake specific responsibilities as delegated.
* Demonstrate pro-social modeling skills.
* Carry out safeguarding duties as per statutory responsibilities.
* Work within the aims and values of NPS and HMPPS.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications: Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice, or recognized qualifications as per Offender Management Act 2007.
Experience: Substantial experience in offender risk assessment and management, knowledge of the Probation Service's role, and experience in multi-agency risk management.
