The pharmacy department is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to work on the bank with our friendly pharmacy team at County Hospital in Stafford.
The post is suitable for someone who wants to work flexibly across the week in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be able to accuracy check medicines within a hospital setting.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing a dispensary service to our out-patient and in-patient wards undertaking activities which will include:
* Dispensing a range of different prescription types including controlled drugs
* Accuracy check of medicines for final release
* Assessing patients' own medicines
* Being involved in training of junior members of staff
You will be a key member of the pharmacy team serving a range of specialties across the hospital site.

Qualifications/Registration
* BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent nationally recognised qualification
* Accredited accuracy checker
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Experience
* Experience of POD or equivalent schemes
* Experience of the use of hospital IT systems
* Experience of undertaking audits
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of pharmacy practice evidencing their own competence
* Ability to present information concisely and clearly
* Supervisory skills
* Self-motivated and ability to work independently
