An opportunity exists for an Offshore Operations Engineer supporting North Hoyle Wind Farm. The position reports to the North Hoyle Operations Manager and its core focus is to maximise the revenues for the Shareholders of the wind farm while controlling costs and improving safety. It requires effective people and influencing skills and a core aspect is to oversee the maintenance, inspection and fault rectification of the wind turbine generators and balance of plant while ensuring safety remains the top priority.,
* Ensuring conformity with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards as well as further development and optimisation in this field
* Overseeing of contractor performance in the planning, coordinating and supervising all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing and repair works including foundations and blade inspections
* Accountability as Deputy Person to the Operations Manager
* Maintain site specific documentation on the Health & Safety Management System (ERP's, Environmental Procedures, Operational procedures)
* Support Operations Manager to optimise stock levels to maintain productivity balanced against low capital employed on Inventory and warehouse management
* Working relationships with O&M contractors, liaison with local council for cable route management, Port Liaison at Mostyn, Emergency Services including Coastguard/Lifeboat and management of emergency drills
* Responsible Engineer for monitoring and compliance with Marine Licence
* Support with the implementation of ongoing life extension activities including the organisation and execution of relevant inspections
* Conduct onsite audits of Contractors O&M activities during both scheduled and unscheduled tasks
* Work closely with the Engineering and Operation's team to ensure optimal planning of resources, plant downtime, and continued asset integrity through life
* Development opportunity to cover Authorised Technician activities offshore during campaigns under relevant WTSR safety rules
* Monitor and feed into reporting system for turbine down time
* Manage vessel co-ordination, vessel audits, vessel performance feeding into vessel KPI's
* Support Operations Manager in selecting and managing heavy lift vessel contractors as well as major component exchange contractors
Proven history of Operations supervising and improving health and safety performance
* Experience in life cycle management, budgetary control and working/managing third party contractors
* A formal qualification in Health and Safety Management, as well as a technical electrical or mechanical qualification to HNC standard or equivalent
* Experience of lifting operations and HV network operations
* Good technical know-how and commercial understanding, along with enhanced MS-Office skills
* Flexibility to participate in "On-call" weekend cover split between 4 persons in accordance with ERP (Emergency Response Plans) including point of contact to UK Wind Control Room
* Holiday and sickness cover for Operations Manager and Engineers
* Flexible due to the nature of the offshore environment, and the ability to stay offshore for short periods at a time and have the ability to work from heights
* Comfortable inspecting components offshore, often while working at height or in restricted spaces, as well as being comfortable working in an office environment, assessing large quantities of multidisciplinary engineering information to provide solutions via reports and presentations
Advantageous, but not essential
* Experience in Offshore Wind Operations
* Experience of Marine logistics including heavy lift vessels
