Job Purpose: We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities and daily exercise whilst maintaining their independence, choice, and dignity. To enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.
To create a stimulating and varied programme of activities and social events inside and outside the home.
Responsible to: Home Manager and Care Officer
Responsible for:
1. Work with each resident to understand their likes, dislikes, abilities, and needs.
2. Recruit volunteers to provide a variety of desired, appropriate social activities.
3. Ensure the Individual Activity plan for each resident is kept up to date.
4. Formulate and maintain a stimulating programme of activities for all residents.
5. Produce and publish a monthly programme of events.
6. Prepare a newsletter for residents and families as required.
7. Help and encourage residents to use social media.
8. Take pictures of events and upload to our Facebook page.
9. Liaise with staff and relatives regarding care and specific activities that may be beneficial.
10. Ensure the activity programme covers seven days.
11. Ensure birthdays and special events are celebrated for residents who wish to do so.
12. Ensure gifts are bought in a timely manner.
13. Participate in teamwork.
14. Assist residents with personal needs in an emergency situation.
15. Promote reminiscence support, mobility, and general support.
16. Ensure all activities are documented.
17. Attend regular training and staff meetings as required.
18. Obtain feedback and log appropriately – informing Home Manager.
19. Undertake other duties, within your areas of competence, as required by the manager.
20. Be familiar with Care Home Policies and Procedures.
