We are currently looking for a motivated Wind Tunnel Electronics Engineer. In this role you will ensure that the electronics used by the Aerodynamics department is designed, manufactured and maintained to the highest quality. You will be involved in the design of wind tunnel wiring harnesses, including CAD modelling and manufacturing drawing production, developing new electronic systems to assist with aerodynamic testing and supporting wind tunnel testing activities.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the optimal functionality of all electrical systems used by the aero department.
2. Responsible for the installation of electrical systems within aerodynamics test equipment.
3. Electrical system layout design using 3D CAD modelling.
4. Liaising with both internal and external customers to ensure that systems are compatible.
5. Manage electrical component stock and ensure suitable spare stock is available at all times.
6. Calibration of sensors.
7. Maintain clear and complete documentation of electrical systems.
8. Specification of any test equipment and rigs required for sign-off of electrical systems.
9. Test and sign-off of all electrical systems as ready for use for aero test purposes.
10. Investigation and resolution of faults within the wind tunnel and electronic systems throughout the department.

Experience
* Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.
* Knowledge of Siemens NX CAD software or similar.
* Experience with CAD cabling modelling tools (NX electrical routing preferable).
* Experience of manufacturing wiring harnesses using TE Raychem system 25 wiring.
* Experience of working within an R&D environment.
* Experience of EtherCAT and CAN systems.
* Delivers timely information and reporting (delivering to deadlines set on the job list and keeping on top of communication).
