We are looking predominantly for service people who can deliver a "Make Their Day" service daily. The Café at Selby is fast-paced and busy during lunch times, mainly serving hospital staff and visitors. We require someone with lots of drive and energy, with a "can do" attitude.
The Café opens from 8am-3pm, Monday to Friday, and shift patterns could be any time within the opening hours.
Every day is different, and tasks include working on the tills, serving on hot counters, working in pot wash, or wiping tables and sweeping floors. Exciting times also lie ahead as there are plans to introduce new food concepts, such as Subway-styled deli and pizza.
Main duties of the job
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Working on the tills and cash handling
* Serving on hot counters
* Sandwich artist working on the deli counter
* Wiping tables and sweeping floors
* Working in pot wash
* Helping out in the wards serving food to patients
* Assisting in the kitchen when required

Person specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* Good basic education which includes reading and writing plus basic numeric skills.
* BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning/Catering or equivalent
Experience and Knowledge Required
* One year work experience in a catering customer front service role.
* Barista experience
* Food preparation experience

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in one payment or over a six-month period once you start employment. By applying, you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful, you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check.
