Job Summary: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. Responsibilities Of a SEN Teaching Assistant As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing one-to-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs. Assisting students with their learning activities, both in the classroom and in one-on-one sessions. Providing emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive learning environment. Collaborating with teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to implement individualized education plans and support strategies. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant Requires To Have At least 6 months experience in an educational or health care setting. Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or physical disabilities. The willingness to provide personal care when needed. A passion and dedication to supporting people with additional needs, to be able to live as independently as possible. A relevant qualification at Level 2 or higher, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
