TECHNICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

Based in Fife, ESS’ client is amongst the UK’s largest producers and suppliers of PVCu, timber window and door products for Domestic replacement, Commercial and New Build sectors. A household name and manufacturer of high-end bespoke products, with over 4,000 Trustpilot reviews and 4.9 excellence rating, our client requires to recruit a Technical Operations Manager due to significant growth and massively ambitious plans to grow their repair and fix, living space and windows divisions.
Reporting to Board level, the Technical Operations Manager will be someone who can combine their technical expertise and leadership skills to support the management of a diverse operations team (supply chain, site operations/construction and manufacturing). Developing the existing systems and processes, driving exacting technical standards and helping build a culture of quality and service excellence will be at the heart of what is required.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues in Operations, Manufacturing, Marketing and the supply chain, directly managing the Technical and Logistics Team, ensuring the business delivers a seamless customer experience at all levels.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Develop key initiatives
2. Develop and implement consistent technical standards
3. Monitor Technology systems and process evolution
4. Actively promote a culture of service excellence
5. Implement new systems to continually improve quality
6. Handle and document corrective and preventative actions
7. Liaise with Depot Managers/Warehouse Teams and other Technical Managers
From the point an order is confirmed, the Technical Operations Manager will be responsible for consistency of quality and therefore a background/qualifications in engineering, building surveying or equivalent is essential. The customer experience is at the forefront of all decision-making, so suitable candidates must have a genuine enthusiasm for exceptional customer service.
The relevant candidate shall be educated to degree calibre in an Engineering or Construction discipline and thrive in delivering first-class product quality and customer care. This role will suit candidates with a strong background in continuous improvement, systems, IT and people.
