An opportunity has become available within Medium Engine Business for a Gas Turbine Fitter. The successful candidate will be based at the Medium Engine Business, Kirkhill Facility and will report directly to the Workshop Supervisor. The primary function is to carry out engine fitting duties including full detail strip, rebuild and to assist in the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of their relevant department in accordance with the company procedures. The secondary function is to assist with inspection when required.

An overview of your day

* Strip and build of engines, modules and sub-assemblies.
* Balance of rotating components.
* To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times.
* Plan and organise each task given to ensure that it complies with QHS&E company procedures guidelines.
* Ensure correct procedures and documentation are used at all times.
* Provide regular feedback to Supervisor on progress of allocated work and escalate any issues that may impact on agreed turn times.
* Provide support to the inspection department with visual / dimensional bench inspection tasks when required.
What we need from you
* Time served Mechanical Engineer / Inspector with a recognised Apprenticeship or National Certificate.
* Several years of experience in Gas Turbine environment preferred but not essential.
* Ability to understand and implement technical instructions.
* Ability to read / understand technical drawings and specifications.
* Basic computer knowledge.
