As one of the largest automotive retail groups in the UK, due to our continued growth and success, we are looking for an Employee Relations Manager to join their team.
This role is Monday - Friday, 9am - hours per week.
Salary is £35k plus a company car. So total package is roughly £40k.
The role can be based at any of their sites in the following areas: Exeter, Taunton, Bridgwater, Barnstaple, Yeovil, but you would be required to travel to all sites as and when needed.
Your new role
Working as an Employee Relations Manager, you will be a key influencer with managers and colleagues, assisting them with their ER matters and general case management. You will work alongside the regional HR team to drive forward the Group's people agenda. You will develop an excellent understanding of how the organisation operates, in order to deliver sharp and commercially focused advice. You will provide advice that is risk-based and commercially focused to ensure you are a facilitator and not an obstacle to action required when managing people matters.
1. To advise, guide and support managers with all matters relating to employee relations including disciplinary and welfare cases, capability, grievance, and coaching managers where appropriate.
2. Effective case management of all people-related issues including employment tribunals.
3. Developing effective relationships with the business to promote good employee relations across the organisation.
4. Identifying trends and potential issues early and proactively offer advice and suggestions where necessary.
5. Supporting on ad-hoc HR projects when required.
What you'll need to succeed
For this role, we are looking for you to have:
1. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
2. Competent IT skills.
3. Good knowledge of employment law.
4. Knowledge of ER procedures and processes such as employment tribunals, disability, diversity and equal opportunities.
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Comfortable working autonomously whilst managing a large number of cases simultaneously.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
