The Centrica New Business and Net Zero team is seeking an outstanding and deeply customer focused individual to take on a Business Development Manager role in our Net Zero Business Development Team.
We are looking for an individual who has the skills and attributes to be a brilliant Business Development professional and is also looking for the opportunity to work with an established team and develop over time into a bigger role.
Whilst your Business development experience may be gained within other industries or products, it is essential that you bring the desire to win work, hunger to achieve, and bags of energy and enthusiasm. You will be part of a team of business development professionals focused on growing the Net Zero Business and products. These include a range of products and services to help take us towards decarbonising our homes, businesses, and our world, with an organisation who have an enviable brand name behind us.
About the role:
* Support clients and teams with Net Zero strategies and solutions.
* Grow existing accounts and convert new business opportunities.
* Manage a sales pipeline and deliver against targets.
* Create customer account plans and identify growth areas.
* Leverage Centrica and British Gas brands to influence clients.
* Share market insights to shape strategy.
* Represent British Gas Zero professionally and uphold brand values.
* Enhance online presence (website, LinkedIn) and marketing reach.
* Promote net zero projects and capabilities internally and externally.
* Support deployment of Centrica/Hive/DSR technologies.
* Ensure business readiness across compliance, ops, and delivery.
* Collaborate with wider Centrica teams to expand renewables offer.
* Align bids and contracts with operational delivery.
* Attend events and panels to boost visibility.
* Use Salesforce and other tools to track activity and value.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Exposure to Business development activity - preferably within a Non-food multi-channel retail environment.
* Ability to effectively manage relationships, including with 3rd parties - bringing an obsession for excellent customer service and nurturing exceptional business growth.
* Ability to deliver results to target, as an individual and within a team.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving dynamic market environment.
* Confidence to influence and engage, building relationships with key stakeholders.
* Organised with strong planning capabilities.
* Able to identify problems and develop practical solutions.
* Customer focused.
* An ability to interpret data to make decisions.
* Role model positive ways of working.
* Able to bring transferable skills and apply these to the business development role.
