The role
Our client has expanded significantly over the past 3 years in terms of revenue, profitability, colleague numbers and offices around the world. Their Grid Connections team has played a significant role in that development, and they are continuing to expand and grow the team to keep pace with the growth in this sector. The Grid Connections team is a team of highly educated specialist engineering consultants who advise renewable energy developers on the best location and methods to connect their wind or solar farm to our national grid infrastructure. This includes onshore and offshore wind projects.
We’re seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator to assist the Director and help the team continue to thrive and grow.
The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the team ensuring operational efficiency and maximising the utilisation of their specialist consultants across renewable energy projects.
Specific responsibilities include;
* Project Administrative Support - Manage and track project administrative workflows, including co-ordinating project documentation, maintaining project tracking systems, and supporting timely completion of grid connection studies and power systems modelling assignments.
* Consultant Utilisation Management - Monitor and optimise consultant billable hours, tracking project allocations, identifying potential capacity gaps, and proactively supporting resource planning to maintain high utilisation rates across the team.
* Timesheet and Reporting Administration - Implement robust timesheet submission processes, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of consultant hours across onshore and offshore renewable energy projects, battery storage system studies, and technical modelling assignments.
* Project Coordination - Assist consultants in managing project timelines, facilitating communication between team members, and supporting smooth project progression by managing administrative documentation and scheduling.
* Resource Coordination - Schedule team resources, coordinate internal meetings, manage project-related communication, and provide administrative support that enables consultants to focus on technical delivery.
* Documentation and Record Keeping - Maintain comprehensive project files, update project management systems, and ensure all project-related documentation is accurately recorded and easily accessible.
* Help with writing and submitting bids with support from the administration team.
* Technical Administrative Support - Support the technical team by managing correspondence, preparing preliminary documentation, coordinating project-related communications, and handling logistical arrangements for project-related activities.
The successful candidate will be an important operational backbone of the team, ensuring that their specialist technical professionals can focus on delivering high-quality power systems studies and renewable energy project solutions.
