Due to the creation of a new post, we have a unique opportunity for a Senior Practitioner - Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) who is looking for a new challenge and ready to take the next step in their career to join our experienced and dedicated Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Mental Health Team Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Solihull’s AMHP service, promoting and developing a high-quality service, supporting new AMHPs and trainee AMHPs, engaging with health partners to promote multi agency responses, and making sure AMHPs based in other teams are engaged with the AMHP service To be successful in this role you will be enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of adults with care and support needs and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse. You will have a professional Social Work Qualification, Social Work England registration and substantial post qualifying experience of adult’s social work. In addition, you will need to have Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) status, experience of carrying out Mental Health Act Assessments and a sound knowledge and understanding of the associated relevant legislation e.g. the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also have: Experience of working with other agencies and professionals in a multi-disciplinary way. Experience of managing positive risk taking and making robust evidence-based decisions. Experience of providing professional supervision to other workers including other AMHP’s and supporting AHMPS through their training. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. As this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job, you will also hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle and within easy reach of the borough.
