Company Overview: Our client is a leading food manufacturing company, part of a larger national organisation. Due to growth and further expansion within the factory, they are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead the food quality assurance function.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Managing a day & night shift team of quality assurance technicians, seniors & supervisors
* Ensuring all food quality & safety standards are maintained to the highest levels across 2 teams on different shift patterns
* Managing the whole process from raw material intake to food processing to finished packaged products
* Ensuring all objectives and procedures are detailed within the QMS and compliant with BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and Retailer Codes of Practice
* Driving team performance, monitoring KPIs, efficiencies & suggesting improvements
* Ensuring corrective action, non-conformance reports, RCA and preventative actions
* Preparing the site for customer audits
* Managing Listeria and allergen records
* Contributing to and driving a Food Safety Culture First approach
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Experience in a "high-care / high-risk" food manufacturing industry
* Strong understanding of food manufacturing QA requirements in line with BRC and retail customers
* At least 5+ years experience in a QA / Technical Manager role
* Experience managing a team across multiple day & night shift patterns
* Able to build relationships in the team, empowering and instructing when needed
* Track record of dealing with non-conformance reports and meeting deadlines
* HACCP, Food Safety & Listeria Level 4 Qualified
* Completion of a Food Science Degree is beneficial
* Excellent attention to detail and performance-related individual
* Objective-oriented, focusing on developing & maintaining KPIs
* Good interpersonal skills, communicating and escalating tasks across multiple shifts
