Job Overview
Under supervision, responsible for the safe production and quality of food through the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of food production and packaging equipment. May perform tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing, and pulling of boxes. Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and adhere to JSA guidelines.
2. Follow all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for the operation of the equipment used.
3. Produce high-quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
4. Set up machinery ensuring all production materials are available.
5. Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
6. Follow specific machine operating procedures and make adjustments as necessary.
7. Follow daily setup and/or shutdown procedures.
8. Maintain accurate production records.
9. Make adjustments to check weighers, metal detectors, and codes as required.
10. Expected to achieve established performance standards.
11. Maintain appropriate level of raw materials as required to ensure production lines incur minimal downtime.
12. Work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being in close proximity to, and crossing over or under machinery.
13. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and perform as a member of a team.
14. Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
15. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
16. Complete routine documentation associated with the manufacture of product.
17. Ability to identify visual defects and make corrections as needed, and identify and distinguish between colors.
18. Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures.
19. Relieve other associates as necessary.
20. Maintain good housekeeping.
21. Regular attendance.
22. Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
23. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
24. Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as company policies and procedures.
25. Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

* Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s, and general instructions.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
* Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk, or hear and will be working from heights. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb and must be able to reach all levels in the bay. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
