Purchasing Assistant - Engineering background
Our client is an established manufacturing company based in the heart of Poole. They are looking to hire an experienced and motivated individual who can join as a Purchasing Assistant as they embark on a period of exciting growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Working with suppliers both domestically and internationally
2. Managing procurement processes from start-to-finish
3. BOM's
4. Coordinating deliveries into production schedules
5. Monitoring stock levels & ensuring they have adequate supplies
Experience required:
1. Engineering background - Capable of understanding engineering drawings
2. Experience of working within a purchasing capacity, preferably in a similar setting such as Manufacturing/Engineering sectors
3. An awareness of ISO 9001
Additional skills that would make candidates stand out include:
1. Excellent negotiation skills when dealing with vendors or suppliers
2. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
3. Strong communication abilities both written and oral
4. Computer literacy especially Excel proficiency
Salary on offer for the position: £35,000 - £40,000
