Position: Financial Accountant
Location: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol
Role: Hybrid, with visits to local Mitie sites
Mitie are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to work as part of the Technical Services Financial Accounting Control Team (‘TS FACT')
Role responsibilities:
* Proactively ensuring postings for a ‘fully loaded' cost P&L are processed within the agreed deadlines and supporting information is available for FBPs month-end analytical review;
* Update processing calendar with status and corrective actions being implemented;
* Compile balance sheet reconciliations and manage PO insights and communications.
* Deliver cost postings (actuals and accruals) within the processing calendar timeframes, clearly communicating progress and coordinating follow-up actions with relevant functions.
* Participate in monthly governance reviews, addressing detailed issues from the queries log and take the necessary actions for satisfactory resolution with the relevant parties.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with all functions and stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely cost P&L.
* Monitor the queries log daily, initiating necessary actions and responses within the agreed SLAs.
* Update document libraries, processes and guidance colleterial, and communications on the TS FACT SharePoint.
* Monitor, respond and communicate announcements on the TS FACT Teams Channels with the FBPs.
* Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to achieve autonomous month-end reporting process.
* Monitor, publish and take corrective actions regarding journal analysis reporting insights.
* Track compliance and reporting of PO management, provide insights for ‘hygiene' actions and follow-ups with relevant areas.
* Monitor and maintaining the publication of key reports.
* Comply with the TS FACT governance framework, company policies, procedures and accounting standards.
* Compilation of the balance sheet reconciliations, resolving and escalating issues as needed.
* Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
What we are looking for:
Knowledge & experience:
* Part-qualified accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT or equivalent)
* 2+ years financial accounting experience within a complex division or company.
* Experience of working within a matrix organisation / business unit which spans legal entities.
* Proven delivery of ongoing process improvement.
* Good knowledge of Excel.
* Knowledge of SAP desirable.
