A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a proudly independent practice in the picturesque port town of Ipswich, Suffolk. Our client operates a thriving independent practice with four branches serving various communities across Suffolk. Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced nurse, this role offers a varied caseload that will allow you to further develop your skills in a supportive and professional setting. They have their own in-house ultrasonography specialist and have also recently started conducting dental x-rays, and they have a regular referral vet who performs osteotomy surgeries, such as TPLOs, with assistance from the nursing team.
The practice is well-equipped with comprehensive in-house diagnostics, including blood machines, x-ray, ultrasound, and multiparameter monitoring. Endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment are also available across their branches. As an RVN, you will engage in all aspects of patient care, from anaesthesia and surgical nursing to diagnostics, inpatient care, and nurse clinics. The practice encourages nurses to become clinical coaches, providing an opportunity to mentor and train the next generation of RVNs. They encourage progression, additional courses and certificates where desired, and they are continuously expanding so career progression opportunities will always be available.
You will be working alongside an experienced team of vets with a wide range of special interests, many of whom are certificate holders or are working towards additional qualifications. This includes vets with medical and surgical certificates, AVPs, orthopaedics, ultrasonography and equine medicine. The nursing team is equally skilled, with members who have developed their own areas of special interest, including certificates on nutrition and anaesthetics, as well as clinical coaches.. The support team, including animal care assistants, receptionists, and administrative staff, is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care for both patients and clients.
The typical full-time rota is for 38 hours a week for 4 days, with 1 in 3 Saturdays from 8am to 1pm. They have an OOHs rota which is currently 1 in 12; night shifts are from 6:15pm to 8:15am on weekdays and 7pm to 8am on weekends. OOHs day shifts are from 12pm to 7pm on Saturdays and 8am to 7pm on Sundays. Bank holiday shifts are from 8:15am to 6:15pm. The Rota:
* Full time role 38 hour week
* 1:3 Saturday mornings (8am 1pm)
* Weekend daytime OOH shifts are worked on a rota basis and currently run at approximately 1:12 full weekends
