We’re seeking a customer-focused Mechanical MEP Design Engineer with strong UK building services experience to become a Technical Area Manager (TAM) in our growing Manchester-based UK operations.
This full-time role blends MEP expertise, project management, and leadership to enhance our MagiCAD for Revit MEP software in UK and Irish consultancies. As TAM, you’ll drive customer engagement, software localisation, and product development while delivering top-tier demonstrations, training, and support. Working closely with sales, you’ll foster new business and ensure customer satisfaction.
Leading the UK technical team, you’ll oversee technical delivery, collaborate with local and global teams, and help integrate MagiCAD into customer workflows. Responsibilities include strengthening client relationships, improving services, and advancing the software. This hybrid role combines remote work, customer visits, time at our Manchester office, and occasional international travel.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead the UK technical team, providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to ensure alignment with business goals and consistently high-quality service delivery.
* Drive customer satisfaction, overseeing the full journey from initial engagement to software implementation, service delivery, and ongoing support, ensuring a seamless experience.
* Foster long-term customer relationships, proactively engaging key contacts to enhance retention, identify upselling opportunities, and expand MagiCAD’s use within their operations.
* Develop and deliver tailored training and consultancy to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and maximise adoption. Oversee service selection to align with client needs and business objectives.
* Lead technical training sessions, both online and in-person, ensuring content is relevant, project-focused, and drives customer success.
* Support the sales team, attending customer meetings, leading technical demonstrations, addressing queries, and ensuring confidence in MagiCAD’s value.
* Manage technical support, resolving complex issues, maintaining high service levels, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
* Influence product development, gathering insights from market trends, UK regulations, and customer feedback to propose enhancements that boost adoption and sales.
* Monitor industry trends, including regulatory updates, workflows, and competitor activities, integrating insights into the UK strategy while contributing to global initiatives.
* Drive growth and profitability, providing strategic input, leading process improvements, and supporting market expansion with innovative ideas.
Requirements
* A UK-based degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering; a Master’s degree would be advantageous.
* A minimum of 10 years’ industry experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the UK MEP Building Services sector.
* Extensive knowledge of BIM and its associated standards.
* Proven experience leading a team.
* Fully proficient in Autodesk Revit MEP, with extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of its application in live projects.

* Strong task prioritisation skills, with a focus on meeting internal and external deadlines.
* A collaborative mindset, while also being capable of working independently and flexibly.
* Familiarity with MagiCAD and other MEP software, such as MagiCAD, Hevacomp, StabiCAD, etc., would be highly advantageous.
