NHS Forth Valley Mental Health Specialties Pharmacy Team has an opportunity for a dedicated clinical pharmacist to join the team providing care for people within the Mental Health and Learning Disability directorate.
The mental health specialties pharmacy team supports both inpatient and community services across the Falkirk and Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health and Social Care Partnerships. Forth Valley Royal Hospital is a modern facility with access to Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA), electronic patient records, digital community prescribing databases and automation. The pharmacy team are highly respected and valued within the directorate and work in partnership with a range of health, social care and third sector agencies across Forth Valley ensuring an integrated approach to the provision of patient focused care.
This post provides an exciting opportunity for a motivated pharmacist to provide excellent pharmaceutical care and contribute to the safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines to patients with mental health conditions. Our team welcome applications from pharmacists who have experience in any sector who have a desire to work in this field and who can demonstrate values of teamwork, person-centered care and ambition. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of improving quality and supporting medicines governance activities, at an appropriate level for the post to which you are applying.

Our Pharmacy Leadership Team are also committed to advancing pharmacy professional roles. We want to offer an excellent training experience for undergraduate and post registration pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and expect all team members to contribute and benefit from this. Pharmacy staff contribute to non-core service delivery including public holiday and weekends on a rota basis. The clinical pharmacist post is also part of the on-call rota; however, this will only be after the post holder has undertaken the required training to undertake this. Flexible working is supported where possible.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
