Further Information:
A Personal Assistant is required to provide support to a young man with mobility difficulties in the Bransholme area of Hull. The PA is mainly required to support this gentleman in accessing leisure and social activities.
This gentleman enjoys a number of activities and has interests such as music (rock and metal), rugby, motorbikes, reading, and poetry. He also likes going to the gym, swimming, football, coffee shops, and the cinema.
The PA will be a companion and facilitator for enjoying a variety of pastimes and outings, so someone who enjoys the aforementioned activities would be ideal. Having a friendly disposition is a key requirement. Applicants should also have a genuine interest in working with disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, and have a confident nature with the ability to remain calm. In addition, applicants should be good at communicating and able to build good relationships with people based on trust and respect.
The applicant must be willing to follow the directions of a disabled person, as this job can be demanding but varied. A strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local communities is essential.
A car driver who is willing and able to drive this gentleman’s mobility car is essential.
12 hours per week are available, Mondays between 9 am and 2 pm, and the other hours are to be negotiated at interview. Please quote reference AX575.
