As an Assistant Director of System Coordination, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the East of England region. This is a senior role within the Operations and System Support Directorate, covering the geographical area of Herts and West Essex.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop effective strategies and operational policies, working closely with colleagues across the sector. The post holder will:
* Drive the strategy for supporting and ensuring alignment across the system.
* Drive reform and support organisational change and uptake of initiatives that support excellence.
* Develop and communicate the vision for the role of innovation and the development of strategy and operational policies to support this vision.
* Engage with key strategic regional and national policymakers to inform the development of strategy and policies.
* Identify examples of national and international best practice to ensure that NHS England benefits from relevant innovations in healthcare.
* Support development by enhancing the innovation infrastructure and capacity in organisations.
* Develop and champion new initiatives or projects as necessary.
* Provide expertise in best practice methodologies, regulatory requirements, policy imperatives, innovation, technological developments, and stakeholder knowledge.

Job responsibilities
This will be a 9-month fixed-term contract or secondment with a possible extension to 12 months.
The post will be based in Victoria House, NHSE East Wing, Capital Park, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB21 5XB, or any other NHS England East of England Office and requires at least 40% in-person attendance and travel across the EoE Region.

Qualifications
* Educated to Master level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in the specialist area.
* Demonstrable experience of working with Acute Hospital Providers and/or ICBs at a system or regional level, with preference for on-the-ground experience. Ability to work as a subject matter expert with regional colleagues, ICBs, and others.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working with Acute Hospital Providers and/or ICBs to deliver improvement in national constitutional and planning standards.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering complex change programmes.
Skills
* Demonstrable experience and ability to hold senior management teams accountable for delivering improvements.
* Demonstrable understanding of NHS national and regional strategy for acute elective services.
