An exciting opportunity has opened up for a temporary Contract Manager position (Up Until March 2025) to become part of the North of England Commissioning Support Unit (NECS); working on the Cervical Screening Administration Team (CSAS) managing third-party contracts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the contract management of CSAS third-party suppliers and their performance in effectively managing relationships, supporting the effective delivery of the service.
The post holder will support the provision of high quality, efficient, and customer-focused service. They must function well as part of a team and be able to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to facilitate a flexible approach to problem solving.
The candidate must have experience in contract management with refined organisational skills that balance work and team support. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to provide detailed complex reports and presentations as required.
Main duties of the job
The contract manager will provide a key supporting role to the Head of Service, contributing expertise to contract and performance management of several major CSAS contracts, covering the independent sector.
The Contract Manager will contribute to the following functions:
1. Contract monitoring.
2. Performance management of contracts.
3. Agreeing investment and recovery plans.
4. Agreeing risk share arrangements.
5. Managing contracts to ensure delivery of national and local targets.
6. Managing contracts to cost, quality, and volume.
7. Capacity planning and demand management.
8. Innovation and Continuous Improvement within the contract terms.
Person Specification
Experience
* Relevant NHS/public sector experience in a contract manager officer role or similar.
* A strong and relevant track record that demonstrates success.
* Practical experience in facilitating change in service delivery through motivating others.
* Proven record of finding innovative solutions to highly complex problems.
* Experience of implementing services innovation.
* Experience of working across organisations and with other agencies.
* Able to prioritise work and work well against a background of change and uncertainty.
* Adaptable to situations, can handle people of all capabilities and attitudes.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
