As an HR Support Apprentice, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of our operations, working closely with the Head of Operations and wider team. You’ll gain experience in a variety of HR tasks, developing a strong foundation in employee relations, payroll, recruitment, and HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR and Payroll System Management:
• Maintain and update the company’s HR and payroll system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for all employees.
• Support payroll processing by verifying timesheets, clocking records, and staff hours.
2. Recruitment and Induction:
• Assist with end-to-end recruitment, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting,
coordinating interviews, and onboarding new employees.
• Organise and deliver induction sessions to ensure new starters are fully prepared for their roles.
3. Absence Management:
• Track employee attendance and manage absence records.
• Work with managers to monitor patterns and escalate concerns where
necessary.
4. Employee Relations (ER):
• Support the Head of Operations in organising and minuting HR meetings related to employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
• Ensure accurate documentation is maintained and follow-ups are completed.
5.HR Administration:
• Provide administrative support to the HR function, including maintaining
personnel files and processing contracts, letters, and other documentation.
• Assist with compliance tasks, such as monitoring training completion and rightto work checks.
6. Staff Timesheets and Clocking:
• Ensure all employee timesheets and clocking records are accurate and
complete.
• Work closely with managers and Supervisors to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Entry Requirements:
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• A keen interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
• Confidence with IT systems and programmes.

Working week: 30 Hours per week - Monday – Thursday - 10am-4pm
Friday - 9am-3pm.
Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work. Student to complete a HR Support Apprenticeship Level 3.
