About the Role: As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will provide targeted support to students with additional learning needs, emotional difficulties and behavioural challenges. You will work one-on-one or in small groups, assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your healthcare or support work background will be highly beneficial in managing challenging behaviours, implementing de-escalation techniques and offering emotional support to students who may struggle with anxiety, trauma, or developmental delays. Key Responsibilities That We Are Looking For: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs. Assist with classroom activities, behaviour management and emotional support strategies. Implement individual support plans to help students build confidence, resilience and essential skills. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to ensure students receive tailored support. Support students with communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and self-regulation strategies. Help students develop social skills, independence and positive learning behaviours. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and support teams. Foster a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe and encouraged. The Successful Candidate Will: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Background in healthcare, social care, or support work (e.g., care assistant, mental health worker, support worker, youth worker). Experience supporting individuals with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges. Understanding of de-escalation techniques, emotional regulation strategies and trauma-informed practice.
