Funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, Research for Social Care programme, this project is an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team passionate about dementia care. This vacancy is part time on a 24 month fixed term basis. Our primary focus is to develop and deliver research that can improve the health and wellbeing of our diverse population, reduce health inequalities and advance health care professional practice. Our inclusive focus to health research is to ensure that it is representative of our heterogeneous population and health care professional groups, using coproduction and inclusive research methodologies and knowledge exchange activities to generate applied knowledge. Our multi-disciplinary research team of academics work within a range of health disciplines to improve health outcomes in our diverse society, with dementia being a core cluster of our work. Main duties and responsibilites: To support the project team with research activities against the milestones of the project such as recruitment, data collection and data analysis. To support the project team with the development of study materials for data collection and application for ethical approval. To support with the day-to-day management of the project, including, for example, planning for interviews and workshops and responding to general enquiries. To undertake relevant and appropriate training as required to support the role. To contribute towards report writing and dissemination activities such as peer reviewed publications. To ensure compliance with research governance standards regarding, for example, confidentiality and storage of data. To engage with the Centre for Applied and Inclusive Health Research activities such as attending research meetings and delivering seminars. To assist with teaching on Post Graduate Research taught modules. Assist with the preparation of applications for further funding. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post. To be successful in the Post Doctoral Research Associate role you will Have a PhD in a relevant field, e.g. Health, Social Sciences, Psychology or equivalent. Have experience of conducting research in social care settings. Have experience of qualitative data collection and analysis. Be able to evidence the ability to establish good working relationships with study participants and colleagues. Have the ability to organise a busy project, own workload and deliver to deadlines. Have the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
