Job Description - Network Manager (15702)
The Role
The Network Manager is responsible for planning and managing the deployment of capacity across a portfolio of bases with the objective of maximising long-term profitability. They oversee easyJet’s portfolio of routes across their bases with a planning horizon ranging from three weeks before operation to two to three years into the future. The role will report into the Lead Network Manager.
This position is also responsible for developing and executing the airline’s network strategy in the bases, analysing various performance drivers, including economic trends, competitor activity, route attractiveness, and costs. Working closely with colleagues, they ensure the strategy is effectively communicated and adjusted as needed. A key part of this role is monitoring trading and making capacity modifications, as capacity allocation is crucial to the airline’s commercial success.
How you will do it:
1. Production of a clear Network strategy at each of their bases and at a country level.
2. Responsible for driving improvement in profitability via detailed and robust recommendations for each season’s schedule build, followed up by capacity adjustments as necessary including through annual thinning processes.
3. The Network Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects and drivers of performance at the country, base and route level to support network and other commercial decisions.
4. Track and understand the evolution of demand at all levels to identify opportunities and risks (both long and short term), including:
1. Understanding the catchment profile.
2. Segmenting demand by relevant customer segments.
3. Optimising timings and frequencies.
4. For every route, understanding of the market pair and airport pair, including customer directionality/profile.
5. Working with the CRM/Insights team to monitor the local customer lifecycle, demographics and geography.
5. Balance investment in capacity growth between self-diluting on profitable routes, competitive investment, and new routes/markets to maximise contribution over the short and long term.
6. On an ad hoc basis provide recommendations for actions to respond to competitor entry or other unforeseen events which require a change in strategy by easyJet.
7. Support and provide analysis for long-term aircraft allocation decisions.
8. Provide cross-functional support to key stakeholders (e.g. country team, trading) when and where relevant.
9. Ensure other functions (e.g. Scheduling, Airport Procurement) have clear visibility and understanding of the likely development of a base and their role in driving performance.
Requirements of the Role
What you will need to do the role:
1. Ideally should have a proven track record of success in commercial or planning roles in an airline setting with the confidence to use judgement to make decisions in the face of uncertainty whilst being inquisitive, with an aptitude for analytical problem-solving.
2. Supported by a numerate background and strength in modelling and analysis of complex and diverse data sets - You will need to be proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint to enable you to clearly and effectively deliver messages to the business.
3. Strong stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills which will provide you with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to improve performance and get things done.

Location & Hours of Work
We typically spend 60% of our time together as a team at our Luton Airport office.
