Given the role the category plays within prepared foods - to lead our market share growth ambition and drive profitability for the total category - the importance of ensuring great availability, quality and price cannot be understated. The global supply base is varied from family businesses to large multi-nationals so you will gain a phenomenal deal of experience in handling own brand products and developing propositions. This category is also a key Christmas & Summer proposition area so the role is perfect for buyers with a passion for product development. You will be responsible for Implementing a market leading picnic offer, supporting the technical, product development and supply chain in collaboration with the customer team Developing, and leading branded & own brand suppliers, to deliver our customer propositions and our joint business targets whilst ensuring that product quality is achieved & maintained. Building a customer focused, long term category strategy that delivers balanced growth for the business & drives market out-performance. Working with suppliers to build a strong Buy/Move plan that ensures our products are manufactured, moved & sold in the most efficient way possible Effectively leading deflation, handling potential CPI risks. negotiating a balanced, market leading commercial position. Forecasting and managing budgets optimally. Delivering quantum profit targets including back margin. Always being cost conscious. Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and hand-over protocols and successfully completing all the training so that you have zero GSCOP breaches. Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within the team.
