Amazon seeks a Senior Manager, Operations to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics is to build a world-class last mile operation delivering to customers. Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and in the most cost-effective way as possible.
The key focus area for this role would be:
1. Building and maintaining the desired level of capacity in a region that consists of several Delivery Stations (in terms of infrastructure and workforce) in line with long-term business requirements of Amazon.
2. Building and executing the operating plan and creating a process-centric culture to achieve the optimal customer experience while reducing cost and maintaining operational excellence.
3. Ensuring Japan Amazon Logistics operations align with Amazon’s worldwide practices.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Plan and build the desired level of capacity in a region that consists of several Delivery Stations (in terms of infrastructure and workforce) for delivering a superior customer experience in line with long-term business requirements.
2. Build Amazon Logistics culture in other managers and employees.
3. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Amazon Logistics business along with the macro business environment (customer, economics, social, etc.). Use this knowledge to engage employees to deliver business results using safe and effective methods.
4. Build and execute the operating plan and create a process-centric culture to achieve the optimal customer experience while reducing cost and maintaining operational excellence.
5. Set operational goals for the Region. Regularly review performance levels and continuously improve the operating performance.
6. Partner with key internal stakeholders from Middle Mile, Capacity Planning, ACES, Finance, HR, Security, and Legal to deliver the operating plan, improve the operating performance, and secure the required support and resources for projects and initiatives.
7. Drive process improvements in the Region to improve customer experience. Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are introduced in the form of standard work and that these are shared and implemented across all locations in the Region.
8. Build, lead, and engage a large geographically dispersed workforce to drive enhanced performance through our people agenda. This will include all levels of the business - safety, employee engagement, performance leadership, talent & succession, and training & development.
9. Ensure operations associates have a good experience working for Amazon Logistics.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
2. 10+ Years of experience in Operations or Business (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
3. Experience leading/managing a team of 10+ people and developing them.
4. Business level English.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Operations experience in a fast-growing company/industry.
2. 15+ Years of experience in Operations (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
3. Previous experience leading a rapid expansion plan.
4. Proven record of delivering multiple programs on time.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Business level of Japanese.
7. Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture.
