Role Overview You will work at a Senior Executive grade, fulfilling the role and responsibilities of Business Development Analyst: Strategy & Market Intelligence in the Forvis Mazars Infrastructure Finance team, reporting directly to the Energy, Infrastructure & Environment (‘EIE') Head of Clients & Markets and working closely with the Forvis Mazars Head of Strategic Growth. In the area of EIE business unit (‘BU') strategy development, you will be responsible for supporting the definition and execution of the BU's clients (origination & retention) and market development strategy. You will support the BU Partner(s) and senior leadership in strategy development and take a leading role in communicating and conveying the corporate strategy to clients, prospects and industry contemporaries. In the area of EIE market understanding, you will analyse relevant markets, monitor our competitive environment and identify trends and market dynamics in order to promote internal strategic dialogue that will further shape and develop the EIE clients value proposition and promote our competitive advantages at conferences/ briefings/ networking events across UK and Europe. You will work closely with the management, the BU and your colleagues in EIE Clients & Markets. The development of integrated reporting and exchange formats for strategy and on-the-ground market-sounding and intelligence gathering as well as the use of relevant knowledge databases, frameworks and tools are crucial to your work. All in all, in this role you will play a key role in shaping the growth and further development of the Forvis Mazars EIE business development growth strategy. Management and continual development of the Forvis Mazars EIE strategy process Support and management of EIE strategic projects at business unit level via attendance and contribution to industry events that our client (and prospective client) base are actively engaging with Development and establishment of market and competition analyses and associated reporting to the EIE Partner(s) and Senior Leadership via on-the-ground, in-person client activities and industry events Deriving strategic implications and development impulses for the Forvis Mazars EIE business unit Supporting the EIE Partner(s) and Senior Leadership in targeted markets, business development to core EIE client segments and client-facing activities (‘touch-points') Responsibilities Uncover new markets and drive market expansion Minimize investment risk involved with new markets or services, by collecting and analysing competitor activities and client/prospect procurement trends and behaviours Perform competitive marketing intelligence studies to stay ahead of the competition and keep up with market trends. You will need to understand not only where our competitors stand today, but determine what their business plans/strategies may be for the future (by market, service offering, got-to-market, client segment etc) Support the expansion of market share by identifying the prospective client base in a specific market segment and what they need to solve existing or emerging issues and the role that Forvis Mazars could play in remediating and resolving these stress-points Improve Forvis Mazars brand positioning and awareness by developing unique brand positioning statement and studying competitors' brand positioning statements to gain new insights into how they do/intend to reach their target clients in these markets Target specific customer segments via detailed market segmentation and tailoring our marketing and businesses decisions accordingly Take an active lead on Market/Client intelligence gathering by: Establishing reasonable but challenging strategic growth objectives Defining appropriate and measurable metrics for success in pursuit of these strategic growth objectives Document and execute a methodical research and intelligence-gathering strategy and schedule Collect and analyse client/competitor/market data and report to BU and Senior Leadership every month in a consistent report format Recommend and take the lead (when appropriate) on mutually-agreed actions on insights developed via the client/competitor/market data collected and reported on What are we looking for? Strong academic background, degree in business analysis/administration or a related field In-depth professional experience in strategy development, business development or management consulting, preferably in the infrastructure, energy & environment industry sectors Knowledge and experience in leveraging a variety of appropriate sales and marketing channels inc. social media, webinars, LinkedIn etc. Knowledge of strategic concepts and practical experience in the development of strategy frameworks and strategic planning processes, ideally within a specialised industry-focussed professional services environment Knowledge of international markets (UK and Europe an advantage) and competitive analysis skills Experience in project management and collaborating with international teams Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to visualise and communicate complex strategies at all levels Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills as well as a good balance of persuasiveness and empathy for client issues Professional fluency in written and spoken English essential (another European language such as Spanish, German, Italian etc an advantage) About Forvis Mazars Forvis Mazars is a leading global professional services network.
