Job summary
* We are a busy ambulatory unit seeing children from 0-18 years.
* You will be completing nurse led assessments for babies with jaundice.
* Providing direct nursing care and acting as an advocate for children and their families.
* To keep up to date with training and attending related courses to help you in your practice.
* Shift leading as well as supporting the ward manager.
Main duties of the job
* Assessing patients and being confident in venepuncture and cannulation.
* Supporting junior staff and students.
* Manage the department in the absence of the Lead nurse.
* Support and deal with patients, parents, relatives and care givers, being sensitive to their needs for dignity, privacy and ensuring a friendly environment.
* Keeping accurate documentation.
* Escalating concerns if a child is unwell.
