Product Manager – Security & Transport Lighting Applications

Location
The role is based at our Head Office in Ashington, Northumberland and offers the option to work remotely 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday)
Purpose of the Job
1. Be responsible for all aspects of Product Management for our Security and Transport LED lighting products.
2. Strategic product Management, the Product Roadmap and product vision.
3. Technical product management including defining technical requirements of new products and product upgrades.
4. Product marketing including positioning, messaging and product lifecycle management.
5. Ensure Raytec products have sustainable long-term technical and operational advantages.
6. Maximise sales revenues, market share and profit margins from the Security and Transport lighting products.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Perform market and competition analysis and initiate new products, new platforms or improvements to our existing products for competitive advantage.
2. Define technical requirements of new products and provide required specifications to the NPD team.
3. Work with marketing to create the correct positioning, message and promotional plan.
4. Support the sales team with training, education and expert advice.
5. Visit customers, both UK based and international, to assist the sales effort and gather market intelligence.
6. Attend both national and international exhibitions to gather market intelligence, meet customers and ensure the correct marketing messages are being delivered.
7. Be responsible for defining and delivering the success of new products.
8. Communicate product objectives and plans throughout the company.
9. Understand customer requirements and address those needs through our products and services.
10. Prioritise product features and capabilities.
11. Manage the product lifecycle from launch, updates/new features, and obsoletion.
12. Manage our Security and Transport products across departments from NPD, engineering, project management, sales, marketing and operations while operating as the ultimate owner of the products.
13. Gather feedback on existing products.
14. Evaluate new ideas and opinions (both internal and external).
15. Make clear and effective decisions on product management: Have the final say on decisions at various stages of the product development cycle backed up with research and take responsibility for those decisions.

Working Hours
This is a Full-Time position working 08.30 – 17:00 Monday-Thursday, 8.30-2.30 Friday as standard.

Essential Skills
1. Relevant industry experience in a similar role.
2. Experience of creating a product roadmap and product strategy.
3. A proven track record of writing technical specifications for NPD.
