Children's Home Registered Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a Children's Home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of residential childcare, and a passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the home operates within the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards, with a commitment to achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" inspection ratings. You will lead a team, providing supervision, guidance, and development opportunities, while fostering a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the children's home, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with regulations.
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring child protection procedures are followed effectively.
* Oversee care planning and ensure individual needs are met, including emotional, educational, and therapeutic support.
* Manage staff recruitment, supervision, and development, ensuring a skilled and resilient team.
* Conduct Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reviews, ensuring all action plans are implemented and standards are met.
* Ensure accurate record-keeping, financial oversight, and effective use of resources.
* Promote a positive culture within the home and in the wider community.
* Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People's Residential Management Pathway) or equivalent.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership role within residential childcare.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory/management role within a residential setting.
* Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Ofsted Standards, and Safeguarding Legislation.
* Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, trauma, and attachment issues.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Experience with budget management and quality assurance processes.
* A commitment to staff development, including providing training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and overnight stays if required.
* A valid DBS check and willingness to undergo further screening processes.
