Exciting Opportunity: Alcohol Recovery Worker
Are you experienced, skilled, and passionate about making a meaningful difference? We're seeking a dedicated Alcohol Recovery Worker to engage and assess our service users, ensuring they receive timely, personalised interventions that cater to their unique needs. With this role you’ll be working as part of the alcohol team in our busy service.
Where: Tower Hamlets
Hours: 30 hours per week (4 days)
Full Time Salary Range: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 (pro rata for part time hours)
Allowances: Inner London Weighting £4,072.06 (paid pro rata)
Contract: Maternity Cover until 31st March 2026
Responsibilities
The Role:
As a valued member of our team in London, you'll be taking on a central role with responsibilities including:
* Offering support to service users from the point of entry into the service throughout their treatment journey.
* Conducting screening, assessment, and developing recovery plans with onward referrals.
* Minimising harm related to alcohol use for both the individual and the wider community.
* Advocating access to partnership services.
* Collaborating with each individual to facilitate social (re)integration, empowering them to lead meaningful lives, emphasising recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
* Supporting service users with their identified alcohol treatment pathway.
* Supporting the alcohol team with facilitated groups and workshops as well as offering 1:1 interventions.
Now let's talk about you, here's what we're looking for:
* Demonstrates a solid understanding of substance misuse issues and has experience in this or a related field.
* Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with proficient IT skills.
* Takes a proactive approach, working well independently with strong time management and ability to prioritise work.
* Holds a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
* Is a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
* Can successfully manage change while prioritising the needs of those who use our service.
* Actively seeks learning opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the learning and development of others.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Salary Range (pro rata if part time)
CGL points 23 to 28 (£27,449.52 - £31,529.41)
