Quality Assurance Technician
Harrogate, up to £36,500k, 4-day week
Excellent opportunity to join a food manufacturer in the Harrogate area. The role will include all aspects of ensuring food safety and managing customer complaints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are open to considering a food Science graduate with placement experience for this role or a candidate with previous experience at this level.
The role of Quality Assurance Technician will include:
1. Maintaining the company's quality controls, procedures, standards, specifications & policies in line with HACCP, GMP and BRC.
2. Training and guidance of production operatives to ensure adherence to SOP's.
3. Undertake microbiological testing on finished products, raw materials, and packaging.
4. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
5. Prepare samples and complete allergen testing.
6. Undertake internal and supplier quality audits.
7. Ensure that all suppliers continue to meet the quality requirements of the company.
8. Maintain technical reports, quality documentation, and test results.
9. Contribute to the development and improvement of quality management systems.
10. Investigate customer complaints, non-conformance, and incidents of food contamination.
11. Undertake root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
12. Assist in product recalls if necessary and handle communication with regulatory authorities.
13. Implement change and improvement in performance and quality.
Qualifications
* 2 Years experience in a quality assurance role
* Level 3 in Food Safety
* Knowledge of quality assurance principles, including HACCP, Pre-requisites, GMP, Auditing, Traceability, NCR's
* Strong analytical skills to evaluate data effectively
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
As a Quality Assurance Technician you will:
* Ideally have worked within a QA role in the food industry or similar
* Have excellent communication and training skills
* Ideally hold Food Safety and HACCP certificates
* Demonstrate an ability to understand BRC Version 9 Global Standards Food Safety
* Own transport essential
Working hours:
4 x 12 hours night shifts 6pm to 6am Monday- Thursday
