This Structural Design Engineer role has been created to support the consultancy’s strategic expansion in Bristol. The Structural Design Engineer will:
1. Take ownership of structural engineering designs, providing innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions that meet client and project requirements.
2. Support projects from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet technical standards, budgets, and deadlines.
3. Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions and maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Conduct detailed reviews of designs and calculations to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. 3-6 years of structural engineering experience, with exposure to a range of projects including commercial and residential developments.
2. Strong understanding of structural design across various materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) and familiarity with industry-standard software.
3. Actively working towards professional chartership (IStructE or ICE) with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
4. Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
