Job Title: Electronics Engineer with analogue and digital design
Location: East Sussex
Salary: £60,000 max dependent on experience
Level: min 2-3 years experience
Position Summary
We require an Electronics Engineer with a proficiency in analogue and digital design to work as part of a team to maintain the existing builds, as well as design and redesign new instrumentation to meet the requirements of the business. The right person will be responsible for working in a multi-role environment, supporting the manufacturing department, as well as designing future products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop new electronic instruments and equipment.
2. Maintain existing designs to meet legislative requirements, overcome obsolescence and improve performance.
3. Propose and prepare electronic specifications to meet functional requirements.
4. Prototype, test and document results, and present the test data.
5. Trouble-shoot development and production issues, contributing to test and inspection plans.
6. Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors and internal and external personnel.
7. Maintain electronic & software information to meet quality system requirements.
8. Advise on the content and provide details for others to prepare technical support documentation.
9. Look for continuous improvement within electronic and software design.
10. Train other employees in technical and operational matters as required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.
Experience And Skills
1. Good understanding of instrumentation and monitoring systems; familiarity with signal processing.
2. HND or degree level in electronics or equivalent.
3. Proven track record of electronics (hardware) product development and design experience.
4. Circuit board design software package knowledge; Altium, Cadence or similar.
5. EMC, RoHS, LVD, CE/UKCA design compliance.
6. Internet of Things (IoT) design and implementation experience is advantageous.
7. Capable of troubleshooting and proposing solutions for electronics-related issues.
8. Firmware design experience is advantageous.
9. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
10. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Good computer literacy skills.
