Location: Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central belt etc.
Salary: up to £64,050 per year on a 37-hour basic week, plus Overtime available.

Role:
The Electrical Construction Manager has a key role in the SPT business, responsible for managing CMT resources and outputs during Development, Procurement, Delivery, and Closure for all major projects.
The Construction Manager will be responsible for:
1. Leading the Development, Procurement (Prequalification / Tendering) and Construction delivery of project scopes from concept to closure in line with CAPEX for numerous projects.
2. Directing the management and delivery, as the assigned Principal Contractor, to ensure regulatory compliance with Health and Safety Law, CDM regulations 2015 and Environmental Legislation.
3. Driving, managing, and evaluating the commercial management and administration of each package of work to control CAPEX risk in line with Contractual Terms and Conditions with external stakeholders.
4. Directing, delivering, managing, and monitoring regulatory outputs in line with programmed milestones.
5. Managing, collaborating, and monitoring all supply, civil, electrical, cable & OHL packages to ensure all Health & Safety and O&M of the built environment is recorded, validated, and stored for future design & maintenance use.
What you will bring:
1. Proven knowledge and experience in planning and managing specifications, designs, maintenance, construction, and commissioning of Electrical works within a Transmission substation environment.
2. Strong ability to interpret Electrical schematic and wiring design drawings in relation to primary plant installation and protection & control systems.
3. Basic knowledge in engaging and delivering civil, OHL, and cable packages of work.
4. Strong leadership & planning skills.
5. Experience in Contract Management, including the control and agreement of variations and claims.
6. Effective awareness of the management of NEC / FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
7. Proven ability to lead, manage, and collaborate on project outputs with a team and all external stakeholders.
8. Knowledge and understanding of Line Management responsibilities, demonstrating an appreciation of HR processes and procedures.
What you'll be doing:
1. Controlling, managing, and monitoring the development and delivery of disaggregated supply and packaged contracts with an average CAPEX value between £10 to £30 million.
2. Leading, managing, and coordinating the initial pre-qualification stages for all supply chain contracts.
3. Leading, managing, and evaluating high-volume tendered deliverable contracts from initiation to Contract Award.
4. Directing, implementing, and managing the agreed Project Delivery strategy reporting on all stakeholder performances.
5. Collaborating and coordinating with Design Teams, Commissioning Manager, Project Managers, and Site Managers to plan and monitor the works.
6. Organizing, leading, managing, and maintaining consistent engagement within the project delivery team.
Minimum Requirements:
* Preferred Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management within the Power Sector.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Current five-day SMSTS qualification.
