As a result of a recent restructure, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly established Project Delivery team. You will work with a variety of civil engineering contractors, consultants, and partners on the delivery of a professional service that maximises resources and delivers positive outcomes.
You will have a responsibility for managing, developing and implementing a wide range of Infrastructure and Transportation projects. This role will focus on contract and design management to ensure delivery of road improvement and active travel infrastructure schemes. You will also assist various Council teams on the implementation of bridge improvements and maintenance, public transport infrastructure, reservoir maintenance, and flood prevention schemes.
This position will contribute to the Council’s development management processes to help the Council deliver The Plan for North Lanarkshire and achieve best value.
With a HNC or relevant discipline and ideally an HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar, you will have knowledge and relevant experience in managing the delivery of design and civil engineering related construction projects. You must be able to demonstrate your experience of NEC contract management and the development of successful working relationships with contractors and professional service providers. You will be self-motivated with a flexible and collaborative approach to work and have the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands whilst meeting tight deadlines.
With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, and be a clear written and verbal communicator, with the ability to analyse information and produce reports and with experience of presenting information in public forums.
You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team within Infrastructure and Transportation, who currently operate an agile model of home-working and office-based work at locations within North Lanarkshire. You will be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire as well as the Glasgow City Region to undertake the duties of this post.
Working Pattern
* Monday - Thursday 8:45am to 4:45pm (55 min unpaid lunch break)
* Friday 8:45am to 4:15pm (50 min unpaid lunch break)
