We are looking for a caring and compassionate Therapeutic Support Worker to join our team based in Faversham Community Hospital. You will be helping to support our patients with Dementia or cognitive impairment.
Our Community hospitals provide a wide range of services including in-patient rehabilitation, outpatient consultations in major specialties such as child health, dental services, therapy and rehabilitation services, minor injuries, minor illness, phlebotomy, sexual health clinics, and other out-of-hours treatments. We try to create a "home from home" environment for our patients.
You'll work under the direct supervision of our Specialist Dementia Nurse, in developing group and individual activities designed to promote the physical and psychological wellbeing of patients on the ward, particularly those with memory problems and living with dementia.
You will also be responsible for using the Forget Me Not scheme and the ‘This is me’ tool designed to support person-centred care for patients living with dementia or cognitive impairment.
As a Trust, we are a huge supporter of developing our workforce; there are always growth and learning opportunities for motivated individuals.
We also believe in the well-being of our teams. Our strategy is to be a great place to work. We consistently score above average in our staff survey results for our commitment to well-being and we are always looking for ways to improve this further.
Rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC, we’ve got a passion for delivering high standards of patient care and excellent services to improve the health of our communities. To do this, we need outstanding people who share our values: compassionate, aspirational, responsive, and excellent.
We know a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion leads to better patient care and a happier workforce. We pride ourselves in being diverse and welcome applications from people with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
As a flexible working-friendly organisation, we want you to be able to work in a way that is best for us, for our patients, and for you. Talk to us about a flexible working arrangement that won’t involve sacrificing time for personal interests or family commitments. We’ll support you to work flexibly in a way that suits us both.
The job description and person specification give you all the information you need about this role. Please look carefully at the criteria in the person specification and tell us what you have done that shows you meet this in your application.
At KCHFT, we strongly encourage colleagues in clinical and non-clinical roles who have direct or social contact with patients to be fully vaccinated. In this way, we will be doing all we can to ensure your safety and that of your colleagues and the patients we serve.
Good luck! We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to #teamKCHFT, #cometocommunity.
