We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Aero Performance Software and Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team.
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Aero Performance Software and Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will work closely with the data science and software engineering teams to ensure that best processes are included in all aero performance related projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for improving methods and tools of the Aero Performance Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work with Aero Performance Group collegues to improve the performance, useability and efficiency of existing tools, models and algorithms.
Innovating to advance the group’s capabilities to utilise state-of-the-art modelling of complex multi-dimensional data sources.
2. Work with the development aerodynamics groups to ensure a strong knowledge of the aerodynamic behaviour of the race car is well understood by the aero performance group and trackside engineering groups.
3. To provide in event support to the Race Team from the operation room.
4. Able maintain and develop good relationships with other groups within the Aerodynamics Department, Vehicle Performance and Technology groups.
Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors.

6. A university level qualification in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering (MEng, MSc or PhD) or similar.
7. Previous experience in a similar role in Industry and/or Academia.
8. Demonstrated interest in performance optimisation of algorithms, linear or non-linear solvers and parallel computing.
9. Expertise with at least one general-purpose programming language (C++, MATLAB, Python).
10. Strong understanding of numerical analysis, computational methods, software engineering practices, algorithms and software design.
11. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
12. Excellent attention to detail.
13. Ability to work effectively in a team.
14. Availability to be full-time based in Milton Keynes from January 2025.
15. Fluency in English.
