Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Ideal candidate:
Are you an expert in designing and developing complex data and analytics solutions for large enterprises? Do you have experience delivering top-notch data and analytics solutions that automate business processes and meet user function and quality characteristics such as performance, availability, scalability, security, and integrity? You'll bring extensive experience in Data Engineering standards, ensuring that code is standardised, self-documenting, and reliably tested. Your experience managing business intelligence development teams in multi-vendor environments will be essential to ensure smooth project delivery.
Additionally, your broad experience managing risks and mitigations related to business intelligence solutions development will be critical in delivering first-class solutions.

Key Accountabilities:
As a Development Lead, you'll play a critical role in creating business intelligence solutions that will be used by TfL for the next 2-5 years. Your team's work will support a variety of strategic processes, including operational performance, revenue collection, and other high-profile data sets.
Your responsibilities will be varied and challenging. You'll lead a development stream and oversee multiple projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and with the appropriate level of resources. You'll also be responsible for maintaining existing solutions and developing new ones, all while adhering to the Chief Technical Officer's technology and data strategy.
You'll be responsible for ensuring that all solutions are designed with privacy and data protection in mind. You'll need to be an expert in the latest data and analytics tools and technology, always looking for ways to improve your team's work and stay ahead of industry trends.
In addition to overseeing the technical design of data warehousing and business intelligence components, you'll also need to ensure that your team is documenting their work according to Data and Analytics' standards. You'll provide technical expertise as needed to address any issues that arise during testing.
Finally, you'll be the point person for quality assurance, working closely with senior management to ensure that all solutions meet business requirements and adhere to best practices. You'll need to be comfortable collaborating with your peers to find solutions to complex problems, always keeping an eye on risk mitigation.
Key Skills:
As a data expert, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology. You'll use your expert knowledge of these topics to design robust solutions that meet even the most complex specifications. With your expertise in Agile development techniques, you'll ensure that your team is appropriately sized and structured to deliver top-notch results.
In addition to your technical know-how, you'll be well-versed in best practice data encryption techniques and standards, ensuring that all information is secure and protected. You'll also have a deep understanding of relevant national and international legislation that pertains to the Government/Public Sector IT.
You'll know the ins and outs of the Data Protection Act, EU Procurement Directives, and Freedom of Information Act, as well as the basic confidentiality and data protection requirements that apply to the processing of customer information.
Your skills and knowledge will be essential to ensuring that TfL's data and analytics are world-class and able to meet the needs of a rapidly changing technological landscape.
