We are looking for a CAD Designer to create technical sales drawings that meet customer requirements, working closely with the sales team from initial enquiry to final quoting. This role requires a strong understanding of building regulations and our modular ramp systems to develop effective customer solutions.
You will be responsible for arranging configurations of modular products, designing layouts for ramps, steps, and platforms. This requires strong geometric problem-solving skills. Proficiency in 2D CAD applications (AutoCAD/DraftSight) is essential, and experience with 3D CAD is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate professionally with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on building regulations and product solutions.
Create precise technical sales drawings using 2D CAD (AutoCAD/DraftSight) based on customer input or surveyor data.
Solve geometric and spatial design challenges to integrate modular access systems into constrained or complex spaces while ensuring compliance with building regulations.
Support the sales team through the drawing process to the quoting stage, including basic administrative tasks (primarily using Microsoft Excel).
Work closely with the Project Coordination Manager and manufacturing team to ensure sales drawings transition smoothly into installed products. Skills and Qualifications Essential:
Proficiency in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD/DraftSight) with experience in producing technical drawings.
Strong geometric and spatial problem-solving skills for designing access systems in irregular or restricted spaces.
Excellent customer communication skills, with the ability to discuss design considerations clearly and professionally.
Competency in Microsoft Excel and basic IT tasks. Desirable:
Basic understanding of architectural drawings and topographical surveys.
Experience using 3D CAD applications. Person Specification
